Russia is preparing to increase production of shells to 2 million per year
However, even this will not be enough for a successful war against Ukraine

Russia is able to increase the production of artillery shells to 2 million per year, but this will still not be enough for a war in Ukraine.
Source. Reuters writes about this with reference to the words of a Western official who spoke to a "small group of journalists." According to him, last year Russia fired 10 to 11 million shots.
In addition, according to his estimates, Russia can produce about 200 new tanks a year, which is twice as many as the West initially assumed, but, again, less than is needed to continue effective warfare.
The official emphasized that Russian losses amount to 2,000 tanks, which means that at this rate it will take Russia 10 years to replenish its armored vehicles.
According to him, in addition to tanks, the Russian Armed Forces lost about 4,000 armored vehicles, more than 100 airplanes and helicopters, as well as 270,000 killed, wounded and missing.
Earlier, the White House stated that Russia wants to receive shells and "other weapons" from North Korea, and that negotiations are progressing well.
The aforementioned official believes that Russia is in a hopeless situation, and the DPRK will try to "squeeze all the juice out of this deal."
The New York Times has learned that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un may visit Russia in September to hold talks with Vladimir Putin. He is expected to attend the Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held from September 10 to 13, 2023, in Vladivostok, and he may also visit Moscow.
