The United States plans to increase monthly production of 155mm artillery shells in the coming years to 100,000, a Pentagon spokesman said.

"In 2025, we will be at the level of 100 thousand per month. Six or eight months ago, we were at 14,000 per month, today we have 28,000 per month," Bill LaPlante, the Pentagon's chief weapons buyer, said at a conference on Friday.
Demand for 155mm artillery shells has surged since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
