WSJ: Pentagon has $5.2 billion left for weapons for Ukraine
The budget for another program under which the US has been modernizing the Armed Forces is empty

The Pentagon has $5.2 billion left in its coffers for weapons and other security assistance for Ukraine.
Source. The Wall Street Journal reports. This amount is equivalent to the cost of weapons that the Biden administration has sent to Ukraine over the past six months.
The $5.2 billion represents about 12% of the total $43.9 billion in security assistance the United States has sent to Ukraine since Russia's invasion.
The $5.2 billion that the Pentagon has left over came after it emerged in May that due to an accounting error, the military department had more money at its disposal to support Kyiv than it had anticipated. This is due to the fact that the Pentagon initially overestimated the cost of weapons supplied to Ukraine.
The budget of another program under which the US has been conducting a long-term program of modernization of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, is empty.
Moreover, according to officials, the account that was used to replenish the arsenal of the US Department of Defense after the delivery of US weapons to Ukraine now has about $1.6 billion, which is not enough to maintain the country's defense capabilities.
This weekend, the US approved a last-minute stopgap budget to prevent a government shutdown, but without funds to help Ukraine, to increase the chances of its passage.
Afterward, US President Joe Biden called on Republicans in Congress to prevent problems with aid to Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that the situation with the vote on the temporary budget in the United States and its signing by President Joe Biden will not affect the receipt of previously announced aid to Ukraine.
