The ministry did not provide details on where the deaths occurred or whether the dead were Hamas militants or civilians in Gaza.
Israeli losses amount to at least 40 dead and nearly 800 wounded.
On the other hand, IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) spokesman Richard Hecht told CNN that he hopes that by the end of Saturday afternoon there will be no more terrorists left alive in Israel.
"We're very focused on rescuing the forces where the fighting is going on and dealing with these terrorists, and hopefully by the end of the day there will be no more terrorists left alive in Israel," Hecht told CNN.
To secure the territory from civilian deaths, special forces are conducting operations in various places, and firefighters are taking control and clearing some areas, he added.
In addition, "tens of thousands" of Israeli reservists were called to help after the terrorist attack began on Saturday morning, Hecht said.
"We are fully deployed and focused on air cover, we are slowly clearing the area and trying to take care of all these people who have entered Israel."
Background. As reported, Netanyahu said that Israel is at war. Thousands of reservists of all branches of the armed forces have been called up, the Israeli Defense Forces reported.
