The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with additional missiles for Patriot systems

The Netherlands will send Ukraine additional missiles for the Patriot system.

Source. This was stated by Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte at a press conference with the President of Ukraine  Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday in Odesa.

"We realize that as winter approaches, Russia will want to do as much damage to Ukraine as possible. Therefore, the Netherlands will send Ukraine additional missiles for the Patriot," he said.

According to him, the Netherlands has already provided 2 billion euros in support of Ukraine.

"And we intend to increase this amount," Rutte said.

In particular, the new aid package worth 100 million euros, as noted by the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, provides for an additional humanitarian package to help the Ukrainian people survive the winter, including the purchase of necessary fuel, as well as to help the de-occupied territories.

According to him, 60 million euros of the new aid package will be used to support Dutch companies that want to contribute to Ukraine's recovery. The Netherlands will also provide technical assistance to Ukraine in implementing reforms.

In addition, as Rutte noted, "the Netherlands must move forward and be a leader in bringing Russia to justice through the establishment of a Special Tribunal in The Hague to help Ukrainian children return to their families so that Ukraine can receive compensation for the aggressive war."

"Our message is clear: Ukraine is not alone, Putin will not deprive you of our support. He miscalculated in this. We see unity in the international coalition of countries that unwaveringly support Ukraine. This is not just a response to Putin. This is a sign of unity," he said.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands also emphasized that "the situation in Israel will not distract his country from helping Ukraine."

"We will continue to support Ukraine. This is necessary in the face of a new crisis that is unfolding in the world. You have seen the terrorist attack on Israel. It will not distract us from helping Ukraine. One thing will not be done at the expense of the other," he summarized.

Background. As it became known, the Netherlands will send F-16s to Romania in a few weeks to train Ukrainian pilots.
