Zelenskyy and US Special Representative discuss protection of energy infrastructure facilities
To attract investment in Ukraine, it is necessary to develop mechanisms to guarantee risks, the President emphasized

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker, who arrived in Kyiv.
The parties discussed the protection of energy infrastructure, macro-financial support for Ukraine and the "fair use of frozen Russian assets."
"Good conversation, good signals," Zelenskyy commented on the meeting on his Telegram channel.
"It is important for us to understand that the United States is ready to help us get through the winter" and will support Kyiv "as long as it takes to win," Zelensky added.
During the meeting, the Head of State noted that all of Ukraine's partners were informed in detail about the urgent need to strengthen our country's air defense system to protect cities, Ukrainian export routes and critical infrastructure.
The issue of ensuring Ukraine's macro-financial stability in 2024 was raised.
The Head of State separately touched upon the topic of rebuilding Ukraine.
The President noted that reconstruction projects require private investment. Therefore, the Ukrainian side is counting on the active involvement of American business in long-term projects in the most promising sectors of the Ukrainian economy, such as agriculture, engineering, chemical industry, etc.
"Of particular interest is the participation of American companies in the reconstruction of the Ukrainian energy system. This is especially important ahead of the winter period, when the aggressor is expected to intensify attacks on energy infrastructure facilities," Zelenskyy emphasized.
He noted that in order to attract investment, it is necessary to develop mechanisms to guarantee risks.
The issue of using frozen Russian assets as a significant source of funds for the reconstruction of Ukraine was also raised.
Background. Earlier it became known that Biden had appointed a US special representative for Ukraine's economic recovery. It was noted that Ms. Pritzker is of ancient Ukrainian descent.
