Ukraine wants to increase drone production tenfold - Kamyshin
Minister promises to produce "tens of thousands a month" by the end of this year, even under Russian shelling

Ukraine aims to produce tens of thousands of drones a month by the end of the year, Ukraine's Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin said at the NATO Industrial Forum in Stockholm.
Drones have played a central role in the 20-month Russia-Ukraine war, being used in huge numbers by both sides for reconnaissance and attack. Kyiv has focused on increasing production, but has relied heavily on foreign-made drone engines.
Speaking at an industrial forum, Kamyshin did not disclose current drone production figures, but cited numbers in the thousands per month.
"By the end of this year, it will be tens of thousands per month. This means that we are growing even faster than conventional ammunition and weapons," he said.
"If we talk about shells, for example, we are now producing many times more than we did for the whole of last year," Kamyshyn said.
"We have developed a model of how this can work even under fire," he added, without providing further details.
Ukrainian officials hope that cooperation with Western arms manufacturers will also help revive the domestic arms industry and provide an additional boost to the economy.
Kamyshin said he recently saw a "new wave of interest" in his country from Western defense companies. Ukraine on Tuesday announced the registration of a joint venture with German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall.
"This is a positive wave, this is more interest, and I am sure that this interest will lead us to the creation of new joint ventures, new local productions," the minister said.
Background. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that several new UAV models have been approved for operation.
