SBU source says assassination attempt on Tsarev was a Ukrainian "special operation"
He was called "an absolutely legitimate target" because he "came to capture Kyiv with Russian tanks"

The attempted assassination of pro-Russian politician Oleg Tsarev in Crimea was a special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine.

"He has long been on the list of traitors who must answer for their crimes. Tsarev is an absolutely legitimate target. He is not just a fanatic of the 'Russian world', but a person who personally came with Russian tanks to capture Kyiv," the source said.
Details of the special operation were not disclosed.
It is reported that Tsarev was hit with two shots from a firearm.
According to the latest information from the SBU, Tsarev's condition is critical – doctors are fighting for his life.
On Friday, the associates of Tsarev, who has been wanted in Ukraine since 2014 and was sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison, reported an attempted assassination attempt:
"Around midnight, on the territory of the sanatorium where he lives, he was shot twice."
The media specified that it happened in Yalta in the annexed Crimea, where he owns and runs the Kirov sanatorium.
The source repeated the information that Tsarev was hit by two shots from a firearm, as previously reported by Russian sources.
Russia's FSB opened a case under the article on attempted murder of a state or public figure. "On the night of October 26-27, 2023, an attempt was made in Yalta on the life of Russian public and political figure Oleg Anatolyevich Tsarev," the FSB said.
