The head of the "Just Russia" party and his wife kidnapped a girl from occupied Kherson and adopted her

The head of the Just Russia party, Sergei Mironov, and his fifth wife, Inna Varlamova, took a girl from Ukraine and adopted her.

Source. This was reported by the Vazhnye Istory (Important Stories) publication, citing documents that were at the disposal of journalists.

The publication notes that the actions of the SR leader and his wife can be qualified as a war crime and genocide by the International Criminal Court, which previously issued arrest warrants for Vladimir Putin and Children's Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova.

According to the publication, at the end of August 2022, Inna Varlamova and Mironov's deputy in the State Duma, Yana Lantratova, visited an orphanage in the occupied Kherson region.

They left Kherson with two children from the city's orphanage, 10-month-old Margarita Prokopenko and two-year-old Ilya Vashchenko.

Last December, Mironov and his wife adopted Margarita, changing her name to Marina Mironova. According to the publication, the girl's biological mother was deprived of parental rights and her father died, but Margarita has other relatives.

Nothing is known about the fate of Ilya Vashchenko after he was brought to Russia. Journalists note that in September 2023, he received a new birth certificate.

Background. As a reminder, British intelligence reported that Russia is holding 11,000 Ukrainian children in "re-education camps." There are 43 such institutions in Russia, where young Ukrainians are convinced that they are Russians.
