Ignat: Ukrainian Air Force shot down a Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missile over Kyiv
An X-59 missile was shot down near the city of Dnipro, the military said

The official representative of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, said in a commentary to the media that a Russian hypersonic missile "Kinzhal" was shot down over Kyiv today.
In particular, he said this on the air of a national telethon. The Ukrainian air force has reported several launches of Kinzhal missiles today.
Russia has previously claimed that it does not have the means to intercept the Kinzhal. In the past, the Ukrainian side has also claimed to have shot down a Kinzhal near Kyiv, a claim that was denied by the Russian military and propagandists at the time.
The Dnipropetrovs'k region, in turn, reported the downing of an X-59 missile.
The head of the Dnipro Regional Military Command, Serhiy Lysak, said that Ukrainian air defense had shot down the missile in the evening. "It is confirmed. The explosion heard by the residents of Dniprovskyi district in the evening is the successful work of our strong defenders of the sky. The defenders from the "Skhid" military group shot down an enemy missile," he added.
As a reminder, UA War Infographics calculated how long it takes for the Kinzhaly to reach Ukraine. In particular, the flight time to Kyiv is 3.2 minutes.
