Ministry of Defence audit reveals 30,000 American turnstiles in warehouse that had been there for almost a year

A Ministry of Defence audit of the Medical Forces Command has found 30,000 turnstiles in storage for almost a year: some of them have already been issued to the military, the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reports.
"Auditors of the Ministry of Defence found almost 30,000 new high-quality SOF medical turnstiles made in the USA in the storage of one of the military units under the Medical Forces Command in Zhytomyr region. These turnstiles were received back in April 2023, and only six months later the military unit issued the first of them to the military – 458 units in total," the Ministry of Defence said in a statement on its telegram channel on Monday.
Reportedly, the results of the internal audit were reported to Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.
"After the audit, the responsible officials began issuing turnstiles, and almost a third of them are already with the military. We have also initiated the distribution of other medical equipment (individual first aid kits, backpacks for combat medics), which had been stored in large quantities in warehouses for a long time," the Ministry of Defence said.
"The task of the Ministry of Defence's internal audit is not only to identify and respond to cases of abuse, but also to prevent inefficient use of military resources. This will be done through more effective planning, enhanced accountability, and solidarity at all levels of decision-making," Deputy Defence Minister Yuriy Dzhyhyr commented, as quoted by the press service.
Background. As reported, Ukraine has received 50,000 first aid kits under a contract from Germany. A total of 500,000 first aid kits have been contracted with Germany.
