Russians deceive Indians into joining the frontline by promising them "easy work and high salaries"

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has revealed that about 20 Indians who allegedly went to Russia to work as support staff actually ended up at the frontline in Ukraine.

The Indian Express newspaper reports that many of them were deceived into undergoing military training and being sent to war.

During the investigation, the newspaper found out that 8 Indians were at the front, one of them was killed by a drone strike and two were wounded.

According to the relatives of the deceased and the wounded, Indian citizens were recruited with the promise of high-paying jobs in Russia and citizenship. The Indians say that they were deceived through the YouTube channel Baba Vlogs, which offered jobs in Dubai, but upon arrival in Russia, they were sent to undergo military training.

The article also mentions another case of a traveller, Jurpreet Singh, who was detained at the border of Belarus, where he was going to go, thinking that his Russian visa was valid there, and handed over to the Russian military, after which he also found himself at war. He was offered to "help" the Russian army by living in Moscow and receiving a good salary in exchange for avoiding imprisonment, but he was deceived and is now at the front.

Earlier, CNN wrote that Russia has managed to recruit probably several thousand Nepalese to participate in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The recruited foreign nationals are sent to the Avangard Training and Methodological Centre for Military and Patriotic Education of Youth, located in the Moscow region. Here they are taught how to handle weapons and weapons systems (including assault rifles, machine guns, drones) and how to drive tanks. After that, the recruits consolidate their knowledge and skills at the Alabino training ground.

As reported, Nepal is demanding that Russia return those recruited for the war in Ukraine and pay compensation for the dead.
