Ukrainian defence startup Himera, which creates invisible radios for the Armed Forces, has raised $525,000 in investment.
It was reported by dev.ua
The founders of Himera are Mykhailo Rudominskyi and Oleksii Oliynyk. Currently, the team consists of two dozen people.
The startup has already received $100,000 in investment from Freedom Fund VC, a German fund founded by former CEO of the Armed Forces Innovation Centre Marcel Yon.
At the end of February 2024, the startup received a new investment of $525,000 exclusively from angels – the United Angels Network, launched in January 2024 in Lviv, and a number of private investors. Most of them are anonymous; Rudominsky reveals only two.
The first is IT entrepreneur and co-founder of outsourcer Perfectial Andriy Skoropad. The second is Arnaud Dacier, a French businessman, business angel, and co-founder of the semi-secret venture fund Kóryos, Forbes wrote.
The startup's plan for 2024 is to release the next version of the product and receive a government order.
The next model of the Himera G1 Pro radio is ready for the market. It will not be much more expensive than the first version, but it will be several times cheaper than civilian Motorolla radios or military developments, Rudominsky says.
In addition, the startup is developing peripheral products such as repeaters.
"The big task for this year is to move from the level of radios to a full-fledged communication system," says the Himera founder.
Background. The Ministry of Digital Transformation has announced a $2.5 million grant programme for tech companies. Only companies that have not raised funding under the BRAVE1 and Seeds of Bravery programmes are eligible to receive a grant.
