Ukraine will propose to Europe to completely block air transit for Russia and Belarus - Shmyhal
This will create logistical problems for Moscow, making it much more expensive, and will also cause discomfort to Russians

Ukraine will propose to introduce a complete ban on air transit to Russia and Belarus.
The government wants to ban Russians from using the European Union's skies for their own comfort, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
"Our idea is that Russian business and Russian tourists cannot comfortably use the EU sky. The EU has closed its skies to the Russian fleet, but we have discussed with our partners the closure of transit for any flights to and from Russia, as well as from and to Belarus," Shmyhal said, according to UNIAN news agency.
In his opinion, such a move would create logistical problems for Moscow, making it much more expensive, and would also cause discomfort to Russians.
"That is why we will insist on imposing this type of sanctions. I am convinced that our partners from Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia will support our proposal. We will work with the European Commission on this," Shmyhal added.
Some European airlines have already started to remove Russians from flights. Russians have been massively denied flights on Polish airline LOT, and this year they are being removed from Turkish Airlines flights to South America without explanation. Russians have also previously been removed from flights by Latvian Air Baltic, Finnish Finnair, Irish Ryanair and German Lufthansa.
Background. As a reminder, the EU has closed its airspace to the Turkish company Southwind due to its ties with Russia. The company is formally based in Antalya, but all three of its planes and employees were transferred there from Russia's Nordwind Airlines.
