Only one in ten German residents expects Ukraine to win the war
Germans are increasingly afraid of war in Europe and are more in favour of military support for Ukraine - poll

Only one in ten German residents expects Ukraine to win the war, according to a Politbarometer poll by ZDF.
82% of respondents are distrustful that Kyiv will be able to win the war with the support of Western weapons. In August last year, 70% said the same.
53% of respondents (compared to 39% in November) are very concerned that a military conflict could occur in Europe, in which the German armed forces would have to take part.
Against this backdrop, 70% of respondents support an increase in funding for the German military, even if this means cutting back on other things.
The share of those who support increased military assistance to Ukraine has also increased.
Background. Recently, it became known that Germany is providing Ukraine with €1 billion worth of aid: the package includes drones, rifles, and demining equipment. The Ukrainian Armed Forces will also receive 1 million rounds of ammunition for small arms.
