Zelenskyy suggests NATO shoots down Russian missiles over Ukraine
He also expressed the opinion that Putin is afraid of Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed that NATO aircraft shoot down Russian missiles. He said this in an interview with Brazilian journalists.
"If this aircraft will fly to the territories of our neighbouring countries and shoot down missiles that are definitely flying to Ukraine, but can also arrive in these territories, as has already been recorded with Poland and Romania, then let them shoot down these missiles, I will only applaud," Zelensky said.
He added that Kyiv will sign bilateral security agreements with Washington, Oslo and Stockholm, as well as with one of the Baltic states in the coming months. According to him, these agreements include not only military assistance, but also humanitarian support and assistance in energy recovery.
Zelenskyy expressed the opinion that Vladimir Putin is afraid of Ukraine.
"Putin is very much afraid of us. I am sure of that. Because he is not confident in himself. Confident people with a large army, a large state, with such mineral resources, nuclear weapons do not threaten the world. Courageous people do not threaten civilisation, the existence of the earth, and all living things with nuclear weapons. Therefore, the psychotype of this "type" is absolutely clear to me. And realising this, we must stand firm, stand our ground," Zelenskyy stressed.
He added that the Russian-Ukrainian war is a war of technology.
"Over the 30 years of Ukraine's independence, Russia has had agents here and done everything to prevent Ukraine from developing, to give away weapons, to destroy defence industry plants."
"Putting all this back on its feet, believe me, is not an easy mission. But we have resumed artillery production, which had been missing. We resumed mass production of missiles – Stugna, Corsairs, etc. We have built the production of drones and electronic warfare. And today it is a war of technology," Zelenskyy said.
