Ramstein Coalition pledged to allocate over $95 billion for military assistance to Ukraine over 2 years
Austin stressed that the contact group has made significant progress in this regard

The United States and other members of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group have pledged more than $95 billion in security assistance to the Ukrainian people since the start of Russia's invasion, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin has said.
"This contact group has about 50 members – our allies and partners from around the world. And we are united in providing military assistance to Ukraine. We are building critical capabilities again and again. And this Contact Group has made tremendous progress. Members have committed over $95 billion in security assistance to Ukraine," Austin said at a press conference after the 21st meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence (Ramstein format) on Friday.
Austin noted that he was "very proud of America's leadership and contribution" and welcomed the signing of the Ukraine Supplemental Assistance Act by US President Joe Biden, as well as increased funding for Israel, Taiwan and the US defence industrial base.
"This will allow the United States to immediately send critical air defence systems, artillery and equipment from our military stockpiles to Ukraine, as President Biden announced on Wednesday," the minister said.
He also highlighted the significant assistance that allies and partners have provided to Ukraine, stressing that "throughout Putin's war of choice, these supplies have been crucial and have saved countless Ukrainian lives."
Background. As a reminder, today it became known that Washington has allocated $6 billion in military aid to Ukraine, one of the largest packages in history. These funds will allow Washington to purchase weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces from American companies.
