There is a tendency to escalation: Syrsky tells about difficult situation at the front

Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi informed Western partners about the difficult operational and strategic situation at the front, which tends to escalate.

Source. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

According to him, at a regular meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine in the Ramstein format, he spoke "about the urgent need for missiles, ammunition, weapons, military equipment and the key role of their timely delivery".

On Friday evening, the Ukrainian monitoring project DeepState said that Russian troops managed to break through the defences in the village of Kyslivka in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region.

At the same time, Russia's active offensive continued in Donetsk region, where Russian troops also broke through the front earlier in the week. According to DeepState, Russian troops occupied the villages of Solovyovo and Semenivka south of Ocheretino. The Ukrainian Armed Forces did not officially confirm this information.

Russian forces are likely to intensify offensive operations in the coming weeks to take advantage of Ukraine's vulnerability to the arrival of US military aid, the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has warned earlier.

Earlier, the chief warned that the Russian occupiers want to capture Chasiv Yar by 9 May to simulate a "victory".
