For nearly two months, Ukrainian soldiers have been defending the city of Mariupol. The Russians almost completely wiped out the once prosperous industrial city. Still, they could not take it under their control.

Previously President Volodymyr Zelensky said that some 120,000 people remain trapped in the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol. He also said that it was impossible to unblock Mariupol militarily. According to him, everything possible is being done to release military and civilians who are on the territory of the «Azovstal».
