Demining requires almost 83,000 square km of the territory of Ukraine - Association of Sappers of Ukraine
This burden will also fall on the shoulders of Ukrainians
With the beginning of the large-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, specialists of the Association of Sappers of Ukraine together with the operator of mine action Demining Solutions are counting dangerous areas of Ukraine that are contaminated with explosives.
Experts of the Association have calculated the approximate total area of dangerous territories of Ukraine by March 21, 2022 – at least 82,525 square meters, the Association said on its Facebook page.
Potentially dangerous territories were mapped by experts. They are located in the south, east of the country, as well as in the Kiev and Chernihiv regions.
"After the victory, these areas will be subject to humanitarian demining! This burden will also fall on the shoulders of Ukrainians. These are only preliminary calculations, and we continue to work, " the Association said.
