Zelensky: War in Ukraine becomes a 'routine' for the world

What happened. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the war in Ukraine is turning into a routine in the eyes of the world.

Source. He touched upon the subject at the address to the Dutch Parliament.

Details. "36 days. That is how long our country and nation face tete-a-tete the army referred to as the strongest in the world. Russia had been preparing against us, against freedom, for decades. They had been accumulating deadly resources in such quantity as each European country may spend on life. And as we speak, these Russian resources function to the fullest. People are getting used to it as terrifying as it sounds," Zelensky said.

According to him, people "begin to adapt and internalize anything war-connected from bombardments to updated lists of the deceased."

"Tyranny has to lose. Freedom has to obtain all the weapons necessary for victory and defense for it to happen. The weapons that the mainland has, that you have," declared Zelensky, taking the opportunity to thank the Netherlands for the provided assistance.

Zelensky has expressed how grateful he is to the Netherlands for the support the Parliament, society, and state have already delivered to Ukraine.

"The aid is genuinely unparalleled. But with the war being so intense and the Russian troops so active, we need more... We need weapons that will enable us to secure our sky and clear Ukrainian cities where Russia organizes man-made famine. We need a kind of weapon that will make it possible to drive out the occupiers from our land – aircraft, tanks, anti-aircraft weapons, shells, missiles, etc. I hope you will find ways to help us," he added.

The Head of our country has also encouraged Dutch MPs, society, and businesses to tighten sanctions against the Russian Federation. To close ports, cut off trade, and be prepared to abandon Russian energy resources.

He has even appealed to the Parliament to influence the international institutions. "Crimes of the Russian invaders must find a proper response from a democratic society," he said.
