The total amount of direct damage to Ukrainian infrastructure due to russian aggression already exceeds $105.5 billion – KSE Institute
The total economic losses due the war are estimated at $564–600 billion

It is informed that as of May 25, the total amount of direct losses of the Ukrainian economy because of the damage and destruction of residential and non-residential buildings and infrastructure already exceeds $105.5 billion or more than 3.1 trillion hryvnias.

Details. Over the past week, the direct losses of Ukraine’s economy due to the destruction and damage to civilian and military infrastructure increased by over $8 billion.
The increase in the total amount of losses was caused by numerous destructions caused to the housing stock, enterprises, as well as due to the losses caused to Ukrainian retail.
According to the latest estimates of project analysts, the amount of losses due to the destruction of the housing stock increased by another $5.5 billion. As of May 25, the total amount of damage to the housing stock is $39.3 billion. Cities such as Mariupol, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy and Rubizhne suffered the most from the destruction of the housing stock. In total, more than 44 million square meters of Ukrainians' homes were damaged, destroyed or lost due to the war.
The total amount of direct documented losses of Ukrainian enterprises has already reached $11.3 billion. Over the past week, this figure has increased by $591 million. Since the beginning of russia's war against Ukraine, at least 227 enterprises, plants and factories have been damaged or destroyed.
It is noted that in the current calculations the losses to Ukrainian retail are added for the first time. As a result of the war, at least 2,910 outlets were damaged, with a total loss of $1.4 billion.
In addition, according to the latest estimates within the Russia Will Pay project, the losses from damage, destruction or loss of cars are almost $1.6 billion. The total number of such cars almost reaches 105,000. Among the regions with the largest number of damaged cars: Donetsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Chernihiv and Kyiv.
This week, the damage caused to educational institutions has also increased by $103 million and now is estimated at $1.5 billion. The amount of damage caused to health care institutions has increased by another $45 million and now reaches $1.1 billion.
Since the beginning of russia's war against Ukraine, at least 23,800 kilometers of roads, 6,300 railways and 41 railways bridges, 643 health care facilities, 643 health care institutions, 1,123 educational institutions, 621 kindergartens, 192 cultural and 115 religious buildings, 178 warehouses, 99 administrative buildings, 28 oil depots, 19 shopping centers have been damaged, destroyed or seized.
According to joint estimates of the Ministry of Economy and KSE, the total losses of Ukraine's economy due to the war, if taken into account both direct and indirect losses, can be estimated from $564 billion to $600 billion.
