What happened? The United States plans to provide $450 million of financial aid to Ukraine in fiscal year 2023.
Source. This is stated in the bill on the military budget for the 2023 fiscal year of the Committee of Armed Forces of the US House of Representatives.
Details. It is noted that $450 million will be allocated to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine – it is $150 million more than requested by the White House.
The bill will also authorize provision of the replenishment of military equipment of allied countries that have transferred their equipment to Ukraine and the provision of humanitarian support for the demining of Ukrainian territories.
In addition, the US Department of Defense must report to Congress quarterly on how it replenishes the stockpiles of weapons that were transferred to Ukraine by the United States or its allies or partners.
The total US defense budget proposed by the committee is $772 billion, of which $6 billion will be for Washington's military strategy in the Pacific area and another $4 billion for the European region.
