Ground public transport in Kyiv will stop during the air alert

What happened? From now on, Kyiv's ground public transport will stop in a safe place during the air raid sirens in the city in accordance with the Traffic Rules, and all passengers will have to go to the nearest shelter.

Details. The relevant decision was adopted by the Kyiv Defence Council, it takes effect today.
“Ground public transport, including private carriers, will stop their motion in a safe place during an air alert in accordance with the Road Traffic Rules. Passengers should leave the cabin and go to the nearest shelter,” the statement says.
It is noted, that as before, during the air alert, the Metro will not carry out transport on ground sections and will close the operation of open-type stations.
“The city authorities call on the citizens not to ignore the air raid sirens and to respect the curfew,” the Kyiv City Military Administration concludes.
It explains that passengers of public ground transport will not pay the passage again after the air alarm has been called off.
After cancellation of the alarm, the driver will wait for passengers at the corresponding stop for 10 minutes, but if the passengers do not manage to return to the transport on time, they will still be able to use the next one free of charge.
