Almost 90% of Ukrainians' taxes will go to support the army in 2023
In total, the state plans to allocate 1.1 trillion UAH for the Armed Forces

What happened? Almost 90% of all taxes and fees paid by citizens and businesses will go to support the army in 2023.

Details. The politician notes that the state's own revenues are expected to be at the level of 1.3 trillion UAH. Instead, the expenditures are planned to be twice as high – 2.6 trillion UAH. 1.1 trillion UAH will be spent directly on the Armed Forces, and the money for the other three main expenditure items was distributed as follows:
- social programmes and pensions – almost 450 billion UAH;
- healthcare – 176 UAH;
- education – 156 billion UAH.
In addition, the Prime Minister stresses that the government plans to close the deficit of more than 20% of GDP with a help of the financial support of international partners. Mr. Shmyhal adds that the state is constantly negotiating new financing programmes.
