U.S. to provide Ukraine with Patriot air defence systems – White House
In addition, a new $2 billion assistance package will be announced

What happened? The White House has officially confirmed that it will provide Ukraine with Patriot SAM systems.

Details. “President Joe Biden will announce a significant new assistance package to Ukraine in the amount of approximately $2 billion,” it reads. This package will include Patriot surface-to-air missile systems, as well as training for Ukrainian servicemen on the use of this system.
Earlier today, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed media reports that he had gone to Washington for negotiations with the U.S. side. He noted that he would pay a visit “to strengthen the stability and defence capability of Ukraine”. The Head of State specified that he would have negotiations with the U.S. President Joe Biden, deliver a speech in the U.S. Congress, and hold a series of bilateral meetings.
This is the first visit of the Ukrainian President to the U.S. since the beginning of the full-scale military invasion of Ukraine by russia.
