Ukraine signs agreement to join NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence

What happened? Ukraine has signed a Technical Agreement on Ukraine's accession to the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE).

Details. Ukraine's presence in the CCDCOE will strengthen the exchange of cyber experience between Ukraine and the member states of the organisation. In addition, this is an important step towards Ukraine's accession to NATO, said NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov.
Natalia Tkachuk, Head of the Information Security and Cybersecurity Service of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, emphasised that Ukraine's accession to the CCDCOE would contribute to "strengthening international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity and cyber defence as well as joint counteraction to cyber aggression by russia."
The NSDC recalled that Ukraine's application for membership in the CCDCOE had been unanimously supported by the decision of the centre's steering committee on March 4, 2022.
The CCDCOE was established in 2008 in response to russian aggression in cyberspace against NATO member states and is one of NATO's key cyber defence structures dealing with cybersecurity issues. It includes 25 NATO member states and 4 partner countries.
