Details. "Many of our servicemen who have defended and are defending our country came up with the initiative to recruit people to such units. Therefore, it was decided that all those who are willing, who are patriots, and who lost their homes or relatives due to the war should be united in such brigades. We have already started forming units that are aimed at liberating our territories and reaching internationally recognised borders. This is our immediate goal," states acting Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
It is noted that the basis of these units will be made up of current police officers, border guards, and national guardsmen.
"First and foremost, these are people who went through the crucible of 2014-2015, some of whom fought as early as 2022. Some of them are injured. The units will consist exclusively of volunteers who are driven by patriotism, and there are a lot of such people in our country," says Ihor Klymenko.
According to him, those wishing to join the Offensive Guard can submit an application form on the website storm.mvs.gov.ua, where all the brigades that are being recruited are presented. You can choose the brigade you want to serve in: Lut Brigade of the National Police, Steel Border Brigade of the State Border Guard Service, or the six National Guard brigades.
"Or there is another option – there is a hotline where you can get advice and information on where to go. Or you can submit an application through the Administrative Service Centres, the list of which is also available on the website," the Interior Ministry says.
You can sign up online by filling out the application form and an operator will call you back within an hour to advise you on which recruiting centre to visit, there are more than 140 of them in Ukraine. The addresses of these points are available on the website, and every volunteer can come to the nearest one.
The candidate also has to pass a military medical commission, a psychological and physical test. Upon successful completion, he is enrolled in the brigade of his choice," points out the acting Interior Minister.
Mr. Klymenko also notes that all soldiers of these brigades will enjoy the same benefits as military and police officers.
"Military personnel can sign a contract or be drafted, this applies to the State Border Service and the National Guard. All benefits and social guarantees are preserved, and we offer a decent salary. We also offer the opportunity to get a profession in educational institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs," Ihor Klymenko emphasises.
The training of the brigades will last for several months, first individually, then as part of a unit, and when the commander understands that the unit is ready, they will move on to performing combat tasks.
