Parliament appoints Maliuk as Head of SBU – MP
Parliament approves Zelensky's submission

What happened? The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Vasyl Maliuk as the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
Source. Oleksiy Honcharenko, MP from the European Solidarity political party.
Details. Thus, the parliament approved the relevant submission by Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Prior to that, Gen. Maliuk was the Acting Head of the SBU.
Parties. Major General Vasyl Maliuk has served as Acting Head of the SBU since July 18, 2022. Prior to that, he was Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs (February 16–27, 2022) and Deputy Head of the SBU (February 28 – March 3, 2022).
In addition, on March 3, Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Gen. Maliuk as the First Deputy Head of the SBU by decree.
Previously, the current head of the SBU was a combatant. He has the Presidential decoration "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation", the Order "For Courage" of the III degree. He was also awarded the SBU honorary breastplates "For Courage" and "For Valour".
