Half of the state budget expenditures in January were allocated for paying salaries – Ministry of Finance
0.3% of the total expenditures or 0.6 billion UAH was allocated for public debt service

What happened? In January 2023, the amount of cash expenditures of the general fund of the state budget amounted to 183.9 billion UAH.

Details. Most of the money was spent on wages and salaries – 90.7 billion UAH or 49.3% of total expenditures in January. 71.8 billion UAH, or 39.1% of total expenditures, was allocated for the salaries of military personnel alone.
Another 37.1 billion UAH, or 20.2% of the total amount, was spent on paying for the use of goods and services. This includes:
- 28.7 billion UAH was used to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine (purchase of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, defence products, helmets, body armour and other special equipment);
- 5.7 billion UAH was transferred by the National Health Service of Ukraine to implement the programme of state guarantees of medical care for the population.
45 billion UAH, or 24.5% of expenditures, was allocated for the payment of pensions, allowances, and scholarships; 9.5 billion UAH was transferred to local budgets. Another 0.6 billion UAH, or 0.3%, was allocated for public debt service.
