The number of real estate sale-purchase transactions decreased by 3 times in 2022 – study
This is the lowest figure since 2017

In 2022, notaries certified 100,710 contracts for the sale and purchase of apartments and residential buildings. This is the lowest figure in the last 5 years, when notaries certified an average of 293,000 real estate sale-purchase transactions per year.
This is evidenced by data from Opendatabot.
Before the invasion of russia, Ukraine experienced a boom in mortgages for apartments and residential buildings – notaries certified more than 33,600 such transactions in 2021. During the year of the full-scale invasion, their number dropped fourfold to 5,400.
If we compare this figure with the number of home mortgages in 2018-2020, we will find out that then an average of 11,000 transactions per year were approved.
It is noted that the situation is similar with mortgages related to land plots. Compared to 2021, the number of transactions decreased by about 3 times and 1.7 times compared to 2018-2020.
The number of land plots sold last year decreased by 2.3 times over the year. Notaries certified 133,447 such transactions.
