Kyiv metro receives humanitarian aid from the International Organisation for Migration – Mayor Klitschko
More than 10,000 folding chairs as well as 3,000 blankets and mattresses to be distributed between underground shelter stations

The Kyiv metro has received humanitarian aid from the International Organisation for Migration, which will make it more comfortable for residents of the capital to stay in underground stations during air raids.
The press service of the Kyiv City State Administration reports this, citing Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
It is noted that the aid includes 10,500 folding chairs, 1,500 blankets, and 1,500 mattresses.
The aid will be distributed between underground stations used as shelters. In order to receive the chairs, you need to contact the staff on duty at the station. Blankets and mattresses will be used in case of a long-term air raid (more than 12 hours).
"The Kyiv metro is one of the critical infrastructure facilities in the capital that shelters tens of thousands of people during russian attacks. Today, 46 underground stations operate around the clock as shelters. The stations are equipped with drinking water, sanitary facilities, ventilation systems and the Internet. We continue to improve the conditions for Kyiv residents in the underground subway stations during air raids," stated Mayor Klitschko.
In addition, today, the mayor of Kyiv rode a new art train that has been put into operation. The carriages feature patriotic drawings, words and phrases that have already become symbolic during the full-scale war. The art train will run on the red line of the metro.
The project was implemented by Paint Hunters, a company that professionally creates murals. The artists painted the art train as a gift to the city and its residents.
