The United States has handed over to Ukraine items of historical heritage, including Scythian swords of the VI-V centuries BC and a flint axe of the III millennium BC, which the attackers tried to illegally import from russia to the United States.
Source. This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko on his Telegram channel.
"We will return everything that russia has stolen from us – territories, people, art and cultural heritage. We are starting now. Today, the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States held an official ceremony of handing over to Ukraine historical heritage items that were detained by the US Customs and Border Protection during an attempt to illegally import them from russia to the United States," he wrote.
Among them: akinakis of the Scythian culture of the VI-V centuries BC (the area of distribution is the forest-steppe and steppe parts of Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) and a flint polished axe of the III millennium BC, which, according to the Institute of Archeology of Ukraine, belongs to the culture of spherical amphorae.
The minister thanked the law enforcement agencies of the United States and Ukraine and all those involved in the operation.
Earlier it became known that the russian invaders had taken about 15,000 paintings from museums in the Kherson region.
