In 2014, officials of the State Grain Corporation, including the chairman of the board, together with a representative of an international grain trader, organized the conclusion and execution of foreign economic contracts for the sale of grain products of PJSC "DPZKU" at low prices to controlled enterprises, the report says.
As a result, the grain was shipped to Saudi Arabia on a cash on delivery basis, but the company never received the money for it. The ex-chairman of the board is suspected of abuse of power and obtaining undue advantage.
The SAPO adds that the suspect has been wanted since 2017 and unsuccessfully tried to obtain asylum in Lithuania.
Law enforcement officers have not disclosed the name of the extradited person. According to media reports, it is the former chairman of the board of the State Food and Beverage Company, Petro Vovchuk, who was put on the NABU's wanted list in 2018.
In addition, the court is currently considering charges against an advisor to the chairman of the SFGCU board and a representative of an international grain trader.
Two other defendants in the case made a deal with the investigation and paid the damages they caused in the amount of $60,000, the report said. Another suspect is still on the wanted list.
