The Government is preparing to launch pilot projects to restore the de-occupied territories.
Source. Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine.
The government has selected one settlement each in Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv oblasts. Large-scale reconstruction will begin there under the principle "build back better".
Mr. Shmyhal adds that this refers not only to rebuilding housing, but also hospitals, schools, kindergartens, ASCs, cultural facilities, etc. – everything will be restored in accordance with safety requirements and modern practices.
In addition, the officials discussed technical issues related to the launch of compensation mechanisms for damaged and destroyed property. The Prime Minister assures that this tool should start working in the near future.
