The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the German Eastern Business Association have agreed to promote green renewable energy projects in Ukraine. The parties signed a memorandum of cooperation.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy in its Telegram channel.
The parties agreed to strengthen the Ukrainian-German energy partnership and confirmed their desire to ensure the stable operation of Ukraine's energy sector and the development of a sustainable and resilient energy system for the future.
The memorandum envisages the exchange of experience between the parties in accelerating the transition to green energy, the implementation of regular joint formats of cooperation on the integration of Ukraine's energy market with the European one, and support for green recovery through the joint implementation of pilot energy reconstruction projects in Ukraine with investments from German businesses.
Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko drew attention to the significant potential for the development of green technologies as part of the restoration and reconstruction of the Ukrainian energy sector.
"Renewable energy is more than just a climate issue. It is an important part of the future of Ukraine's energy system, which will be resilient to military challenges and to be rebuilt on the principles of sustainable development. Investments in this sector are a contribution to the energy security of the whole of Europe," the Minister stressed.
