The Ministry of Economy, through the Western NIS Enterprise Fund, has secured $100,000 to support small businesses

The Ministry of Economy has signed a memorandum with the Western NIS Enterprise Fund, which involves providing $100,000 to finance the government programme Own Business as part of the eRobota project. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.

Own Business provides an opportunity to receive a micro-grant ranging from UAH 50,000 to UAH 250,000 for starting or developing a business. A mandatory condition for granting a micro-grant is the creation of 1-2 new jobs, depending on the amount of the grant. Both existing entrepreneurs and people without experience in such activities can apply for a micro-grant. Applications for grants are submitted through the Diia portal.

Entrepreneurs can use grant funds to purchase equipment, raw materials, materials, rent premises and vehicles necessary to implement their business project, purchase licensed software, and pay for marketing and advertising services.

In 2022, 3,300 applicants received micro-grants under the Own Business programme for a total amount of UAH 777 million. In 2023, the programme has a budget of UAH 1.8 billion, which will allow for the issuance of 10,000 micro-grants.
