Naftogaz has launched a new well with a flow rate of 580,000 cubic metres of gas per day.
This is reported by the company's press service.
The exploration well is 5,800 metres deep and is located in the east of the country. It has also opened up prospects in a previously unexplored block of the deposit, estimated at over 6 billion cubic metres.
The head of the company, Oleksiy Chernyshov, added that currently, preparations are underway in this block for drilling two more new wells: an exploration well and a prospecting well.
"The deposit has significant prospects but also a complex geological structure, which is further complicated by deep fractures and has a block character. Discovered gas deposits exist under high-temperature conditions with abnormally high reservoir pressures," the company explained.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that now it is possible to get a permit to use the subsoil through the e-cabinet. It is expected that this will reduce the time to receive a permit, avoid technical errors, and reduce the number of refusals.
