Sweden to help Ukraine test Gripen fighter jets
There is no talk of deliveries yet, but Ukrainians intend to learn how to operate them

Sweden will help organize tests of Gripen fighter jets by Ukrainian pilots, Swedish Defense Minister Paul Junson has said.
Source. This was reported by Reuters with reference to the Swedish TV4.
Mr. Jonsson emphasized that the transfer of Swedish fighter jets to Ukraine is not yet being considered, as Stockholm needs all six divisions of such aircraft to ensure the country's security.
"This concerns the fact that Ukrainians are requesting different types of aviation systems – it can be Tornado, F-16 or Gripen – so that they can test different platforms and systems that we have and other countries have," the minister said.
"We are currently considering the possibility that Ukrainians can test the Gripen," the Swedish defense minister added.
According to him, such testing can be conducted through flights on Swedish fighters, training on computer simulators, or obtaining data on ground support systems for the Gripen.
JAS 39 Gripen fighters are manufactured by the Swedish concern SAAB.
Background. As a reminder, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark are planning to unite their air forces. They will jointly plan operations and train pilots and technicians.
