The Verkhovna Rada ratified an agreement with the EU on Ukraine's participation in the Single Market Programme – Zhelezniak

The Ukrainian Parliament ratified 3 agreements with the EU in the field of economics.
This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak.
He noted that the first agreement ratified was concerning Ukraine's participation in the Single Market Programme. The decision was voted in favour by 260 MPs. The European Union's Single Market Programme is a financial initiative aimed at supporting the EU, with a budget of €4.2 billion for a period of 7 years (from 2021 to 2027). It is expected to enhance cooperation with the EU.
In addition, an agreement was ratified that envisages Ukraine's participation in the Customs Cooperation Programme, which was supported by 264 parliamentarians. It forms the basis for cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in supporting the customs union and customs authorities. The Customs Initiative aims to protect the interests of the Union and its member states, ensure safety within the EU, combat illegal trade, and support lawful commercial activity.
According to Zhelezniak, the MPs also approved an agreement on Ukraine's participation in the tax cooperation programme Fiscalis (in favour – 265 votes). The Fiscalis programme is aimed at cooperation between participant countries and their tax administrations in combating tax fraud, tax evasion, and aggressive tax planning. Participation in this programme is expected to improve tax administration, combat tax evasion, and enhance cooperation with EU countries regarding tax information exchange and institutional capacity development.
