The construction of a factory for the production of Turkish Bayraktar combat drones has already begun in Ukraine.
This was announced by the Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin, during the national TV marathon.
In addition, according to Danylo Hetmantsev, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial Matters, Ukraine and Turkey have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of development of strategic industries and technologies.
One of the key areas of cooperation is the development of capacities and capabilities for the production of various types of UAVs. However, the document also provides for areas of cooperation in research and development in the field of autonomous systems, space, and other technological sectors of strategic industries of the two countries.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Baykar had received the necessary licensing permits from the Turkish authorities to produce TB2 and Akıncı drones in Ukraine. The factory is expected to open in 2025. The total volume of planned investments in the enterprise is $95.5 million.
