Mind's journalist, Dmytro Rybakov, killed on front line

A serviceman from the 47th Independent Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Rybakov, with a call sign Reporter, was killed in russia's war against Ukraine.

Before the full-scale war, Dmytro worked as a journalist and media consultant, including creating analytical materials for Mind.UA. "Dmytro was not just a Mind journalist who wrote articles, but one of those active people who helped to launch and develop this project, who brought new people into it. Dmytro took on any investigations – he had no fear or 'brakes' of any kind. He was one of those who believed that the media should be exactly as we made it," commented the editor-in-chief of Mind.UA, Yevhen Shpytko.

"The war continues and takes the best among us. Dmytro Reporter amazed everyone, first with his broad knowledge, and then with his courage and bravery. You never know how a person will behave in battle: some will shrink, and some will fight like a lion. He fought like a lion and died like a hero. Dear friend, rest in peace! We will have to work without you now..." wrote film director Oleh Sentsov on his Facebook page.

"Too daring, too unconquerable... Thank you for your huge contribution! Rest in peace. Honour, Brother!" wrote fellow soldier Oleksandr Shyrshyn on social media.

The Mind's editorial team deeply shares the heavy loss and sincerely sympathises with Dmytro's family: his wife Tetiana and daughters Anna and Svitlana. It is a great sorrow for all of us.

As a journalist, in his materials Dmytro Rybakov highlighted topical issues of the day – economic and technological development of Ukraine, business, fight against corruption, international politics, and so on.
