The Commission for Regulation on Gambling and Lotteries has identified 750 illegal online casinos in the first half of 2023.

This was announced by the commission's chairman Ivan Rudyi in comments to LIGA.net.

It is noted that these websites are managed by approximately 500 brands. However, the number of legal licensed gambling operators in Ukraine is no more than 20.

Rudyi added that in total, the commission had identified and forwarded information about almost 1,800 illegal online casinos to law enforcement agencies from January 2022 to March 2023.

The Commission for Regulation on Gambling and Lotteries has already appealed to the National Centre for Operational-Technical Management of Telecommunication Networks with a request to block the domain names of illegal gambling organisers.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the National Bank of Ukraine suspected the co-owner and top management of a bank in laundering 5 billion UAH. The leaders received funds from the illegal gambling business.
