The Korean automaker Kia Corporation will build a car assembly plant in Kazakhstan, in which it will invest $195.3 million, the press service of the government of the Central Asian country said.

The government of Kazakhstan and Kia Corporation signed constituent documents on the establishment of a joint venture Kia Qazaqstan, which will build a new Kia plant in Kostanay. This will be accompanied by the emergence of the country's first automotive localization center and training of technical specialists in a new format.
Kia's production is expected to start in Kazakhstan in 2025.
The government's press service separately told Reuters that it is about the production of cars by the method of small-node assembly, which includes welding and painting.
The authorities and the company have not yet said which Kia models are expected to be assembled in Kazakhstan and in what volumes.
