The politician emphasized that such an aspiration is associated with the belief that small reactors will be an ideal complement to large nuclear power plants.
Andrzej Duda reminded that ORLEN Synthos Green Energy, whose representatives are also present at COP28, intends to build reactors using SMR technology.
The Polish leader pointed to the cooperation of the Polish company with companies from the United States and Canada.
"I am glad that ORLEN Synthos Green Energy is also starting cooperation with a company from the United Arab Emirates – Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation. The UAE, the host of this climate summit, has just completed the construction of its first major nuclear power plant. This shows in the best possible way that nuclear power has a future all over the world," the Polish president added.
Background. As reported, more than 20 countries have called for a threefold increase in nuclear energy production, including Ukraine. China and Russia refused to sign the declaration.
