Zelenskyy met with Crown Prince Bin Salman in Saudi Arabia
They discussed the points of the Formula for Peace and preparations for the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland at the level of leaders
On Tuesday 27 February, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Saudi Arabia and met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He announced this on his telegram channel.
According to Zelenskyy, the parties discussed the points of the Peace Formula and the progress that can be made in their implementation.
"Saudi leadership can help find fair solutions. We appreciate the Prince's desire to help restore true peace and are grateful for his advice and support," the President wrote.
The parties also discussed the content of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland at the level of leaders and the steps that can be taken to restore real security for Ukraine, the whole of Europe and the global community of nations.
An important topic of the meeting was the specific opportunities for bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia in the economic and technological spheres, Zelenskyy added.
The "peace formula" consists of 10 points and, in particular, includes the withdrawal of Russian troops from all internationally recognised territory of Ukraine, including Crimea, the punishment of war criminals and the payment of compensation. Ukraine expects a large-scale international summit to be held in the future, where world leaders will approve these general principles for resolving the war.
Zelenskyy also mentioned the return of prisoners and deportees as another topic for talks in Saudi Arabia.
