The US House of Representatives voted for the Land-Lease and defence of democracy in Ukraine
This will significantly speed up the supply of weapons to Ukraine

What happened? The lower house of the US Congress – the House of Representatives – voted for the Land-Lease and defence of democracy in Ukraine.
Source. This is stated in the message of the House of Representatives of the US Congress on its official Twitter page.
Details. The document, known as Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022, will speed up the transfer of important military equipment and other critical supplies to the country by reducing bureaucratic red tape. It allows the transfer of equipment de facto, provided that the recipient country pays their cost to the United States later.
In particular, the text of the document refers to giving the President of the United States expanded powers to transfer or lease to Ukraine defense equipment to “protect civilians from russian military invasion” and for other purposes.
After the act is approved, the chairman of the White House is obliged to establish accelerated procedures for product delivery within 60 days.
Background. Lawmakers are resorting to an extraordinary tactic which was last used during the greatest global conflict of the twentieth century. This is another sign that the United States and its allies in Europe believe that russia's invasion poses an existential danger to the liberal order. It also shows that the Western world believes that Ukraine can now win the fight against the russian invaders.
