Details. According to the Ministry, a russian helicopter violated the country's airspace along the eastern border between the towns of Kesälahti and Parikkala at around 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4. These cities are located approximately 20 kilometers from each other, and about 10 kilometers west of Finland's border with russia.
The helicopter flew 4-4.5 kilometers deep into Finland. The country's border service has opened a preliminary investigation into the incident.
Previously. Finland hoped that 30 NATO members would ratify the decision on its joining to the North Atlantic Alliance “as soon as possible” provided that its candidacy alone or with Sweden.
