What happened? Ukraine returned 215 military personnel from russian captivity, including 108 heroes of Azovstal and Mariupol.

Details. According to him, among the released prisoners of war, there are 124 officers. 5 senior officers are currently in Turkey.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported that as part of the exchange, putin's godfather Viktor Medvedchuk, who is suspected of treason, was returned to russia: “It is not a pity to exchange Mr. Medvedchuk for real soldiers.”

“We have exchanged 200 of our heroes for Viktor Medvedchuk, who has already given all the evidence he had to the investigation. And 5 commander-heroes from Azovstal have been swapped for 55 russian prisoners who are of no interest to us,” Mr. Yermak stated.

Commanders from Azovstal: Denys Prokopenko (call sign Redis), Serhiy Volynskyi (aka Volyna), Sviatoslav Palamar, Denys Shleha, Oleh Khomenko are already safe under the personal protection of Turkish President Mr. Erdogan. They will remain in Turkey until the end of the war, they will be provided with comfortable conditions and the opportunity to communicate with their families.

Dmytro Kozatskyi, a senior soldier whose photos and videos from Azovstal went viral all over the world, was also released from captivity.

Well-known Kateryna Polishchuk (aka Ptashka) – volunteer paramedic of the National Guard of Ukraine is on her way home. She supported the fighting spirit of the soldiers in the dungeons of Azovstal with her singing.

Maryana Mamonova, a 30-year-old military doctor and captain of the medical service, is also returning home. Now she is in the last months of pregnancy.

In addition, among those released are 10 foreigners who defended Ukraine. They are already in the city of Riyadh.

According to the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Denys Monastyrskyi, this was the most difficult exchange. The exchange was the largest one since February 24. The process of rehabilitation, adaptation, recovery and treatment awaits the released defenders.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the released defenders who are currently in Ankara via video link.

“We are doing our best to get everyone, absolutely everyone, back home,” the president assured.
