Details. "We expect that the recipients of these funds will create new jobs, as a prerequisite for a microgrant is that the entrepreneur creates one or two jobs, depending on the amount of the grant. This will have a positive impact on the labor market," said Tetiana Berezhna, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine. Thus, according to the official, in 2022, thanks to financial support from the state, 3,300 entrepreneurs created more than 8,000 workplaces.

Almost 30% of last year's participants of the Own Business programme represent wholesale and retail trade, vehicle repair, 20% – the processing industry, 13% – temporary accommodation and catering service. The largest number of grantees was in Kyiv, Lviv, and Rivne.

To recap: On February 1, the first wave of applications for microgrants to start and develop businesses was launched this year. Within a week, Ukrainians submitted more than 200 applications for funds through Diya app. The amount of microgrants ranges from 50,000 UAH to 250,000 UAH. It can be spent on purchasing or leasing equipment, purchasing raw materials, and renting premises.
